Advice on cleaning/prep for paint or polish

Just curious what people’s approaches are to cleaning and prepping prior to paint or polish? I have been wire wheeling and sanding. Trying to figure a way to speed things up a little.

If you can, try glass beading or soda blasting on the parts. It doesn’t damage the metal and preps it for primer or Bondo.

Thank you Mumbles, I was eyeing blast cabinets last night and wondering about the soda. I had used play sand to sand blast back in the day, was thinking it may be too much for aluminum.
