Long story short, The Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa) got
into fabricating alumminum to make a market for the new metal. Kiekhaefer K Models had
Alcoa made aluminum connecting rods, clamp brackets, poppet valve, propellers and possibly
      crankcase and lower cover.
      Economics 201 discussed Alcoa
      monopoly in primary aluminum
      and fabrication. ‘
Alcoa did die casting and forging, They also did not
      cast the 1903 Wright aircraft
      engine, but, they did supply
      the aluminum allow metal used,
I assume other brands of pre ww2 outboards also used parts
      made by Alcoa,
