      I got my re-chrome work back. I think it came out nice. The gold looks good in person, but a little too green in these pictures.

      Anyway, I have a question about the control faceplate…..what holds it "off" of the backfire arrestor so that it is firm up against the cowling?

      Here it is, against the cowling:

      …but as you can see, I can "push it back" about a half inch.

      Is something supposed to hold the faceplate "forward"? I can’t imagine this is just allowed to slop around fore & aft…

      What am I missing?

        I believe there were springs behind the plate on the low and high speed needles to push it forward,

                  What a great job…..most impressive!
                  I don’t know how common the Javelin was in USA and Canada,
                  but I have never seen one down here in NZ.
