Hello, Blasting this old tank revealed a 1/8th inch hole in the gas tank. What are my options for patching this? Thanks

Its a two piece tank and the hole is almost directly below the filler hole so I do have limited access to the inside without splitting the tank.

That depends…Is the tank aluminum, steel???? A product called "RED-KOTE", which I have used, states for holes like that one can merely place tape over the hole and then use their product. once product is cured tape is removed. By your statement this holes seems to be on the bottom of the tank? You can also thoroughly clean the inside and rinse VERY well with water and have it professionally welded..

If it can’t be welded or sealed from the inside, I’ve had success using a good epoxy such as Marine Tex on the outside to fill pin holes and lacing.

They make gas tank patch stuff available at your local auto parts store. I used some on my aluminum transmission when I got a hole 1/4" in the side of it, still sealed after 3 years now… Don’t remember the name of it, you just pinched off a chunk, kneaded it with your fingers and applied it to a well cleaned surface.

A nut and screw is also a possibility if not in a visible location. I would think seriously about coating the tank as suggested, since one hole suggests other thin spots, or worse, are likely.
