Does it spark?The reason I ask is,I have been trying to get spark on a conversion like yours with little success.The only difference is that my mag plate is the one with cast in shoes.

Yes they are new coils installed just like those in picture.Only difference is I didn’t “insulate” the bundle of rods as you did.I’m going to give that a try.I do get a very weak spark,(enough to spark a plug) but not enough to even jump 1/8 gap.
