A “tilt lock lever.” The link below is NOT mine, but I have similar ones and I don’t know what they are for. Again I am having the feeling I should, though….

looks like a “flip over” tilt lock on the side of ETECS ….. same basic principle I guess

If anybody cares to know, I found it. It looks like a kind of antique-ish part; but it isn’t. Number 42 in this diagram, from a 1987 OMC.
