I have been trying to track down a Capacitor for a twin-cylinder Sea King (at least that’s what the tank decal says), but I haven’t been able to identify the year and model yet.I wonder if anyone has ideas as to what this motor is? I’ve got some numbers off a block plug: 494 01673. I’ve got it running using one I had, but I’d rather be sure.

        I get 1936 4HP.

        Similar to Lightwin/Fisherman?

Not 100% sure, but I believe the number was 170905, changed to 171449. 0.1 MFD. marineengine.com has one in stock. If you can trust it, being as it is 80 years old.

Good point about the age. Wait… That’s about how old I am! 🙂

Here’s a modern substitute for the original cap. I can vouch for them!
