Hi, just bought my 1st Antique Outboard (Mercury 5 HP from the 1950’s….I tried to upload but says its to big even though it is only 4KB) I just want to do a exterior refurbishing and place this in my home office and didnt pay a lot ($70) as this is a 1st attempt. Bad part is I already have the bug and can see this as an addiction……………
- Can someone direct me to best website or directions as to how to start ?
- Best way to polish the aluminum around the cowl of the motor ? sanding ?
- What not to do when buying a vintage motor ? Try to buy without dents on the cover ?
Ive watched some utubes , figured best to start here first. Thank you for any help.
