I have a 1960s I believe white super marathon 700 Mercury block it’s spinning perfectly has two fuel fuel pumps nothing really wrong with it at all… I can’t think of a single project or aything to do with it? does anybody have any ideas?? otherwise it’s going to get dropped off as metal.

You would also be free to anybody in the Albany New York area.

Place an ad in the classifieds on this site and offer it for free. You’ll be besieged with responses. Don’t ask a dollar for it because nobody will respond. I’m not an expert on that size/vintage but I’m pretty sure that’s from a direct-reversing  engine. That might make it desirable to a few guys out there.

            Long live American manufacturing!

I was thinking you could make an air compressor out of something like this but you’d still have to cool it so you’re talking about a little electric water pump a little cooling radiator and you still somehow have to lubricate the Piston walls and the journals/bearings.. so you’re talking about some sort of oil misting device at the intake port for all 6 cylinders which is therefore going to get into the air that you’re compressing… Not a huge deal because you could make some sort of a catch reservoir in your air compression tank…  People add oil to their air compressor lines to lubricate air tools anyway (sometimes.)

              Still an interesting idea though.
