April 25, 2016 at 10:22 pm #35494I think that was a Feathercraft.
April 26, 2016 at 2:06 am #35511It looks like it may be one of the older (and lower end ribbed and riveted) boats made by Gregor (?) or Valco.
I’ve used a ribbed Valco when I used to do duck banding on Sauvie Island. It was an old and worn out boat and there were some leaks around some of the rivets. There was also an old and worn out Gregor as well, but I can’t remember if it was ribbed and riveted. Both the Valco and Gregor were west coast boats. Gregor is still made in California and Klamath, also of California, bought all of the plans for Valco boats.

April 26, 2016 at 5:31 am #35521The ribbed construction just doesn’t look familiar to me. And i thought if it’s really a ’56, it probably predates Valco ?
April 26, 2016 at 9:46 am #35522Well, the motor isn’t 1956 so who knows about the age of the boat.
April 26, 2016 at 10:09 am #35523Looks like a Studeabaker [may not have spelled that right] I don’t know if that was the manufacturers name or not, but I’ve seen a few of those here around Lake of the Ozarks.
April 26, 2016 at 12:19 pm #35529Vio Hulda and/ or Studebaker boat, built in Kansas. Not related to the car company. I’ve got a brochure somewhere. I started out with one in the early sixties powered by a 12hp Sea King. It is a welded hull and I managed to break most of the welds. Rough water didn’t slow me down.
I had a friend with a similar boat with a 12hp Buccaneer which was just barely faster. Depending on our funds, we would go in one boat or the other, or sometimes just take both of them. His boat was not painted and of a textured metal. Ours were built in the mid fifties.April 26, 2016 at 1:16 pm #35531if you are looking at the feather craft camper it has 2 braces on the transom not boxed in like this boat. JMO
