I picked up what looks to be a complete 509 and am looking at teardown and rebuild. Need some advice. Worth the time and research? Anyone know where to get a magneto for ignition? Are the gas tanks specific to Scott or universal?

I have the service manual, for I think most all the Scott’s, it is digital….message me if interested…

There is a good thread on the 1-30 models in ‘ask-a-member’ here:
          viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1967
That thread is dated July 24, 2015 in ask-a-member.
That model, like any, is only worthwhile restoring if you really like it, like I do.
Scarce model, never seen one run at a meet, allegedly fast, somewhat complicated controls and driveshaft assy due to it being an early design gearshift motor.
