Lost mine during my long restoration of my Lark.

Very close to starting the motor after 7 years (life got in the way)…but upon rebuilding the magneto, the pin was gone!

I ordered one on eBay…it’s been two weeks and no delivery. The guy said he sent it.

I really want to attempt to start this weekend (actually wanted to 2 weeks ago to be exact)…can’t without the pin and do not want to wait for a non-delivery!

Seems I can make one…anything special about the pin? Material, size, etc??

I was thinking stainless steel rod. The size seems to be about 1/8…if it is not, I’m back to square one!

      Happy Motoring,

I thought I was going to go out in the shop and grab hold of one. Nope, it’s "somewhere". Anyhow, a 5/32" drill shank fits the hole.

Finding 5/32 rod at the local hardware store seems unlikely!

Can’t believe at 7 years…this is holding me up at the moment!

I’d break off a drill bit. Clamp it tn a vice and hit it with a hammer, making it a bit too long and then grind the end down flat and to the right size. If you have expensive, high quality, drill bits; go buy a cheapie or a cheapie set.
