There are a few companies that advertise
outboard restorations so I guess they
would qualify as “Professional” but are
limited to the 50-60’s motors. Motors of
your vintage and condition are often put
back in running condition and preserved
as a survivor. Ones that are restored are
normally done by the owner. Some have
        the ability to manufacture replacement
parts while other farm out the work they
can’t do. Repairing rare magneto ignitions
if possible is very difficult as well as a
gas tank replacement if necessary. Your
motor looks to be in good condition. If
its just a cosmetic restoration you are
looking for it could probably be cleaned
and polished easy enough but you would
be much better off with someone in the
hobby that understands what you have.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Where are you located?Your best bet would be to contact a local AOMCI chapter.I’m sure there are members who could help you do it yourself,or steer you to someone who can do it for you.
