Asbestos plates

      While dismantling the P45 there were 2 asbestos plates bolted to the top of the silencer below the fuel tank. Was this normal practice, or is this a later add-on? If so, does anyone have any idea as to a more healthy replacement?

        Of course the idea was to block heat from the fuel. An air gap and an aluminum plate works as well. . . 😉
