Recently aquired a omc serial number 4010715      i damaged one of the plug wires trying to remove the plugs     is there a replacement coil available?    also mounting bracket is broke on one end , never dealt with battery ignition before     what kind of battery would i need ?     Can send pics if needed

With no pictures I am not sure which coil you have, but guessing it is the one that has 2 brackets on the outside to use to attach to mounting bosses on the motor….I do 3 d printing and I am currently designing Resin printed tube to allow a modern coil to be installed that will fit in this application.. I have 2 motors here one is a 1934 Speeditwin, the other is a 1933 Elto Lightweight Model # 444.  Both use this type of coil…

The system will allow easy access to let one replace the coil, plug wires and such without dealing with that blasted nasty tar…

      I am making progress…

      Cheers

      Richard

      Will post pics later todsy

Tried posting pics. Says file too large.  Yes.  My coil is just over 5″

I’ll get the measurements of the replacement coil and post them here by tomorrow.

These are the coil dimension. Your OK length wise.
It would be a tight fit if your coil tube dia, is the same as this one.

This is someone’s remedy for this same situation. I don’t know what coil it is exactly that has screw on terminals and nuts, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work if you don’t mind the look.

Found at the previous Constantine meet.

That’d be fine by me.     Never seen a coil like that
