      US MEMBER PAY BY CHECK

      I am looking for the spec for the battery of a 1958 Evinrude 18 electric start.  I know it is 12 volts but that is all. Is there a CCA requirement and or total amps for battery.

        just get a 600-750 starting battery…but even small ones  300 amps will work as long as the  engine charges the battery  and you don’t run it down

        or… get  a combo  start /low discharge marine battery   will also provide power to an electric kicker … best of both worlds.

         

        Lipo4 are very powerefull and  light but $$$$$

          1958 18hp has no charging system.

          A Walmart marine battery or equal will be fine.

              I suspect a good quality garden tractor battery could provide a lot of starts for this motor.
