for the Bendix outboards?

Wondering what year my model SB (Single / Battery), serial # 6B5128 is?

I believe 6B means 1936, Battery ignition.

Thanks for the information, but I don’t see how my serial number
"6B5128" at all jives with the 70,000 numbering sequences?
Then again, I’m only on my third cup of coffee.

I don’t know where they got those numbers either. There used to be a great Bendix website, but it’s gone now. It was filled with great information. I wish the info was passed the AOMCI before it went away. Anyway, I’m sure the first number in the serial number is the year.
