Hello All,
A few years ago I bought a box of Bendix Eclipse parts at the Constantine meet. It’s sat in the garage until today when I looked through it and noticed that the parts were for a Bendix Model EX-2.
What is an EX-2? I have never heard of an Eclipse Model labeled as such. See the Pic of the tag….and another of the Bendix Models.
Anyone know what an EX-2 is?

Sorry George I don’t understand the question. The only Model # is the EX-2. As Mumbles pointed out there is no serial number; at least not on the tag.

My guess would be similar to Mumbles. It was #2
of a group of motors that were used in some
fashion to discover any issues before going into
production.
Tubs.A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
August 22, 2022 at 8:54 pm #264758What I was asking is, what is the model number for the trolling motor Bendix made? Is it possible, and I don’t have any records of models, that the EX-2 tag came off a trolling motor? The electric Bendix is scarce, and I’ve yet to see one in person.

Peter Hunn in ” The old Outboard Book” also talks about an experimental four cylinder Bendix, vintage 1938.. only one was known to have been built to completion. Maybe “EX – 2” was going to be the second one? Any other unusual parts in the box of Bendix goodies?

August 23, 2022 at 7:21 pm #264817Well, I’ve had this little Bendix Electric for a few years. It has what looks like a factory accessory weed guard on it. It is missing the connection harness and battery clamps. I thought I would post a few photos. There is no brass tag or other info on it other than the castings on the top switch cover, and the transom mount.
