I guess I could rip mine out but if I wanted to replace my foam padding what is the better foam to use ?

Is regular foams for chairs and sofas any good ?

mine is about .5 inch thick …. is thicker foam any better

glue wise…. any special ones needed to resist fuel vapors I don’t want the foam dropping out is surface sprayed canned glue any good ?

          Here’s what worked for my 1990 Evinrude 15 HP. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SOUNDCOAT-1-2-A … 7VJMLEJEYw

When I got the motor, the lower cowl was full of degraded factory foam pieces. Cleaned it up and installed the Soundcoat foam. The installation was done with four cut to fit pieces. I made a paper pattern in place, then traced it out on the foam backing. Be very careful when placing the foam. The adhesive backing is very powerful, and it’s a ‘one shot deal’. I’m not sure about flammability, but my motor hasn’t caught fire yet.
