        All the pictures previously posted here and on all other posts have disappeared. Hopefully it’s just a temporary issue while the website folks are doing some other updates. Would hate to lose all those picture files.

          outboardnut – did you even get a reply to your question? I’m attempting the same thing with mt ’55 25hp – wanting to use a starter and bracket form a 1957 35hp.
          let me know what you found out please.
          or anyone else that can answer my question.

            here is some useful information to add to this post.
            I was searching for a starter bracket to mount a 12v starter to my RD-17 as i convert it to electric start.
            I bought the starter bracket pictured with is from a 1957 Johnson javelin – part number 376885.
            it seems to have mounting holes at both spacing mentioned above. it came with a 12v starter mounted to it – MDO 4002M.
            It bolted right up to my 1955 25hp.
