Some of you may remember my pristine 9.5hp mdl 9622a at $50

well costs are up I just picked one up for $75 🙂 ( somebody’s father in law motor)

this is my next winter project
Found it on KIJIJI for $100 after 34 min. post .

It was 30 minutes away so I rushed over paid the man an agreed upon $75
Walls are smooth , missing a low speed adjustment knob 😥

prop, skeg ,starter everything looks ok incl. the infamous powerhead rubber mount.

Figured I did ok (just the choke knob is a totally obscene $116 U$ 😯 !!! at the dealer )

will be doing further inspections (comp. coils, etc….) and will report back with pics

Hit? sorry my French heritage makes that word confusing….

but if it is analogous to beg… I’ll take one but my comment referred to a missing low speed knob .. the choke knob reference was just to make my purchase worthwhile. 😉

            Crosbyman,

I too like the 9.5’s. I think a lot of folks give them a bad rap. Once you get used to them they aren’t so bad to work on. Just takes a bit longer for some of the basic repairs. The obscene prices some of the parts command are crazy, but that is becoming more common across the board.

            Keep saving them!

Okay, in technical terms, place a want ad in the webvertise for what you need and likely someone will help out. Parts like that should be plentiful here, amongst the members.
