Well I took the points apart to clean them and now I am not sure I have them back together correctly. Does anyone have an exploded view of the points I can look at? I know,,should have taken a photo or drawn a diagram. And how do you connect the lug wire to the coil, my plug wire seems to be aluminum and won’t take solder.

It could be high voltage wire for neon signs. They use stainless steel. Aluminum wire has caused many a house fire do to corrosion and the difficulty of attaching it to anything.

        I have not been able to find a picture of a Champion magneto, Sorry . . . . 😳

Absolutely, !t should be a solid copper multi-stranded wire like Packard 440.
            . . . 🙂

They didn’t solder the wire to the Bendix-Scintilla coils. Tin the wire with solder, then simply stick it through the hole in the lug and twist it around the lug one time.

                  IT’s ALIVE!!!!!
Well it’s all back together and running. Still some fine tuning to do on the carb. But I have water peeing from the bottom hex head bolt. good strong stream, (Like I did when I was young) do I just need to put sealer on the threads of the bolt or do I have a major problem?
