Hi all , I am currently working on a Martin 40. When I popped the fly wheel , inside was written in marker ” Boyds 6/30/72″. I have had this engine for some time now and I can’t remember where I got it from. I searched Boyd’s Marina and found one in Alabama. I called them, The Marina’s name has changed and the guy on the phone told me to call the manufacture. I called a couple old time marinas in the Central New York area where I’m at and no one can recall. Just trying to find a little history like where it came from.  Does anyone know of a Boyds Back in the early 70’s?   Anyhow , I’m pretty impressed with this motor so far. Right out of the gate it has powerful spark and cylinder 1 has 140 and cylinder 2 has 129. Haven’t seen those numbers in quite a while in an old motor.  Thanks , Matt.

Perhaps it was just a small engine repair shop and not a marina?
Fun to track down history anyway.

        Prepare to be boarded!
