This has been hanging on the wall at my local dealer for years. He’s retiring and cleaning out so now it’s my turn to hang it on the wall. I’d like to run it but it’s missing a carburetor and advance lever. It turns over nice and seems to have good compression. There is also no ID tag on the front. I would like to find the correct year if anyone can ID it and If anyone might have the correct carb and lever that would be great. Thanks for your help! Tom

. . . . . . GOOD LUCK . . . 🙄

There is a good chance that
Doug Penn could have the parts
you need but he is spending the
winter in Florida and wont be
returning home to April. If you
don’t have any luck getting what
you need by then you can contact
him.

December 17, 2016 at 11:29 pm #49333I believe American Outboard sells an ID plate for them if you go the restoration route. Not sure what or if you would put in the model or serial number section.
December 18, 2016 at 4:49 am #49350Look under the starboard cylinder, on the crankcase, for a possible serial number stamping there. My 1923 has the sn stamped there. Most ruddertwins don’t though.
December 18, 2016 at 12:27 pm #49354It looks very much like my 1924 Model C. Post lots of photos as you take it apart. I plan to start working on mine soon so your restoration will also help me.

December 18, 2016 at 5:21 pm #49364Great! Thanks for the information about the ID tag. I am excited about this project. I wish that it had a serial # though. I checked the starboard side crankcase, there is a machined pad but unfortunately no stamping on it. The stamping guy must have been on his coffee break when it went by. Ha!
OK, Maybe a "1924 Model C" Thanks!
I appreciate everyone’s help and great information.
TomDecember 21, 2016 at 5:25 pm #49533I’ve have a 1925 "C" apart and I checked for the
S# on the block and couldn’t find one either.
I have Super Elto and Evinrude horizontal
twins from 28 to 31 and the block is numbered
on all of them. Possibly the tag is the only number
on these and they didn’t start stamping the
block till sometime later.A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
