I am posting regarding a cache of motors left by my late father, Richard Young, who was a member of AOMCI (and on the cover of The Antique Outboarder, Oct 1999). I believe most of them work very well, as restoring these was his passion. I have stored those motors near his residence on Camano Island, WA.
I am wondering a few things, but one of which is: Is anyone willing to identify and/or price these motors for me?
I would like to find new homes for these motors, so I assume this is the best way to get these in the hands of people who appreciate them. If you have other suggestions, please let me know. Unfortunately, I don’t have the capability to go to swap meets and such.
Here is a link to high resolution photos I took a few days ago:

Thanks much for your help.Robert Young

July 20, 2016 at 5:26 am #40550Sorry to hear about the loss of your father.
Your Dad had some amazing engines. The first two shown in the photos are indeed prized engines and sought after.
I sincerely hope you find good homes for these engines and possibly save one for yourself? Am down in the Florida area so can be
of no help to you but am sure you will have offers for the engines and offers to help identify if needed.July 20, 2016 at 5:47 pm #40578I too am sorry to hear of the loss of your dad.
I’m also in Florida and am familiar with all the engines shown. I have some suggestions as to realistic prices based on the conditions of the motors based on the pictures. I won’t post any suggestions but will be glad to via e-mail. I’m willing to bet most of the interest in those motors will come from the Eastern part of the US which will make shipping an issue affecting price. My suggestions shouldn’t be considered set in stone but rather suggestions.

July 21, 2016 at 12:16 am #40602As I can’t see the photos. I guess I’d have to create a user name and password to view at Dropbox?
July 21, 2016 at 12:34 am #40605Vin Tin, I don’t have a drop box account and I can see the pics if I click the link. Not sure why you can’t?

July 21, 2016 at 12:41 am #40606Robster, Very sorry for the loss of your father. He had some very nice motors for sure. There are lots of members here that know a lot more about that era of motors than I do. I still have much to learn about the antiques but I certainly do appreciate them. I’m sure you will get the help and info you are looking for here. I am in Michigan so I won’t be able to drop by and see them either. I’ll be admiring the photos for a while though.

July 21, 2016 at 1:48 am #40613Be very careful with that 1929 Speeditwin. The carb is showing signs of zinc alloy rot. The float bowl cover has already been replaced, and the float bowl section itself is now very fragile.

He's livin' in his own private Idaho..... I hope to go out quietly in my sleep, like my grand-dad did..... and not screaming, like the passengers in his car...
