I have been searching for this part for over 35 years…..I just need to borrow one to have it reproduced. If anyone on here has a 30 cu in Caille (Model 51) with 5-speed (This is the 23 hp engine) and would be willing to work with me, please respond. I’m going to have more than one made since this part is so hard to find and would be willing to share one with the person who helps me. This is a rare engine as it is a long shaft and not listed in the catalog. This part connects with the gears in the prop and rotates the blades. Note: In the picture, it is only the part on the left end that is needed. The red arrow points to it.

George, that looks like a “rare bird” for sure… totally different that the usual Caille  5 – Speed prop mechanism. I hope that you have luck in your search.

While I was searching around for anything Caille 5 Speed, I found this pix of the parts layout for the usual 5 Speed…. the parts that you don’t need!

Thanks again Joe. The principal design is the same, but the part designs are significantly different…..I’m not going to stop looking, and someday I’ll find one to use for reproduction.
