I am working on a Caille r.b.m. I noticed there is no plug in the lower unit for grease. it looks like I have to dissemble the lu each time to grease it?
does anyone have any tricks on greasing one?

take the water pump out. You don’t have to disconnect the hose, and there’s only one screw holding the pump in.

        Hope it helps.

          Thanks for the reply.
that would work for the water pump part but I cant see how the grease to get to the gear cavity.

You’d have to pump enough in there to force it back there. If you have a flexible hose on the end of a grease gun, you could do it that way.

But – if you’re not comfortable with that, the only other alternative is to remove the propeller and rear cap, and fill the gear cavity in directly.

Is it a standard prop, or variable pitch?

variable pitch. I was tempted to drill and tap for a pipe plug.
