This gear foot is on a Hubbell B motor, patterned after a Johnson SR. the gearcase is a right hand rotation. The nose cone is missing. The bore in the front of the case is 1-1/2" without threads. It is a bottom loading unit.
Any input on the maker of the case would be helpful, as I would like to make a cone for it, but not sure where to start.
Sorry abound the grainy images, the motor is a poorly lit basement.

Yeah that is a factory Johnson unit. I have a couple of them I believe.

            Really?
I have never seen a Johnson that was a bottom loader. My early ones are top load and the later SR 38-39-40 have a more pronounced bulge where the double pinion bearing sits. What year and motors was this case used on?

Think yours is for the Johnson service S engine with 12:21 gear ratio? If you find a case from one of these, the nose cone should fit. Think even the later units with more streamlined 13:19 ratio would have same cone as well. Others will verify.
