I talked to someone with what sure looks like an Invader, but said it was a Cape Craft. I’m thinking it’s a case of lost title and using whatever is available.
March 17, 2016 at 3:31 pm #33564I don’t believe Cape Craft ever made anything that small. I tried to search their history, but it only seems to go back to 1992. The HIN number, if it has one would tell the story. I have 2 Invader 10 footers, one is a 1969 and the other is a 1972. I also have an 8 footer made sometime between 1966 and 1969. None of the boats have HIN numbers as I do not believe it was required until later in the 70’s. If you can post a pic of it from the outside and a pic of the transom construction from the inside I can ID it for you if it is an invader. Hope this helps.
March 17, 2016 at 5:04 pm #33571The seller seems to have taken his ad down, when I talked to him later Wed. afternoon he said he had lots of callers. It’s not real close to me and doesn’t come with a trailer, so that limits my interest some. Is an 8′ the same as the 10′ kidney killer I’m thinking of?
March 17, 2016 at 5:31 pm #33573The 8′ invader was the prototype the 10 footer was developed from. You can see the lines of the 10 footer in it. It is a very rough ride being a small single seater. That’s why it’s my Son’s boat. 😉

If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.
