Not sure this is appropriate to ask, but here goes. I am retired and recently cam across 5 old small outboard motors. Knowing very little, I chose to go ahead and start working on the one in the best shape. This would be the 1958 Johnson, 10hp. I have already reached out, and folks have been a great help. But there is nothing like meeting up with someone face to face to get guidance in greater detail when trying to trouble shoot a problem. So was just wandering if there are any members in the Central Florida area that would be up for some questions. I want to learn (ha – retired educator) and do as much as the work as I can. I have a complete wood shop and necessary tools. So if someone is nearby, we could share knowledge. Just thinking.
Let me know.
ThanksMay 16, 2020 at 4:55 pm #203244There are several central Fl members that are very knowledgeable on the antique as well as the vintage motors. What city are you located in? We hold several meets a year in central Fl where help is always willingly given.
