In the process of tearing down my 1J organ donor.

Tank, carb, flywheel, and magneto/coil plate depopulated.

The stator magnets cannot be removed due to a keyway. My question is if this is a Woodruff key that is removable? If so, I will try persuading it and bit.

Did you download the owner’s manual the mumbles was kind enough to post on your former thread? the parts diagram shows the mag rotor key , part 1J505, to be a woodruff key.

          I do have a 4 or 5 page 1J 1K manual PDF.

I looked for it, but could find it. I will look again using that PN.

I will also look for what mumbles posted.

            Joe B,

Found it in my little manual. PB blaster, tap tap tap. Needle nose vice grips. Pull pull pull. Out she came. Found a second one below that.

As you might be able to tell, I am new to this. Next the power head. It looks like I has a JB Weld patch on top. Since it is likely trash, I will tear it down completely. First time doing that also.

            Thanks for the nudge.

Good job Ronald, you will see that this web site and club is all about learning.  Outboards are pretty inexpensive and simple… good for learning and “playing”

Yep. Agreed all the way around. Thanks to all again. I’m sure I’ll have more to ask later.
