I’m 14 years old and I’m new here so forgive me if I am in the wrong place, but I recently bought a champion blue ribbon non recoil start out board, maybe a 5 horse or some thing like that, I am awful sure that I need a new coil and the one in it is cracke, and the plug wire has been ripped out. It was at an Estate sale for 25 dollars and the lady let me have it for 5, I thought I would fix and make run, as I did with an evinrude 2hp that I found in a dumpster, I am in desperate need of information on this motor and I will post post picture as soon as possible
      Thanks, Whitters121 😉

Thanks for the welcome, this is what I have, sorry for the unclarity, it’s in my garage. Like I said the coil is in bad shape, I reassembled it to the best of my knowlege, as it is different from my evinrude, I work part time with my dad on small engines and lawn mowers, so I have a little knowlege about ehat make things and it doesnt have spark the way it sits run

Welcome to this site. Looks like a bendix coil. Mercury and a few others used that coil in thier earlier motors. You can still buy those coils although they cost more than the OMC ones. There is a member here that sells new ones and capacitors for a reasonable price. Good thing you will only need one.
