Could anybody tell me what would be the best way to clean all the grime off of my mercury ke4? My biggest concern would b using a degreaser and it damaging the gaskets. Thanks in advance.

WD 40 and tooth brush does a fairly decent job on grime and does not fade paint

The BEST is Soda Blasting. Gets down to bare metal leaving  bright casting.

Thd aggressive cleaners such as Super Clean call for eye protection and long rubber gloves. These cleaners are harsh.  Rinse, Rinse and Rinse again. Discarde wash water will also make  drains run better.

If you just want to clean off the years of oily gunk, I second the WD40. It will cut the grease and oil , but leave most everything else. Decals can be tricky if they are fragile, so be careful at first until you see what happens. I bought some nylon scrapers of Fleabay that look just like single edged razor blades, and they fit in razor blade scrapers. They work well to scrape off things like paint splatter or stickers without damaging the paint..

Hi Jordan, and Welcome to the forums!

I for one cannot see your pics.  Have you tried posting them direct to the forum as opposed to using a hosting service?  When you are posting you will see a “Select File” button down below the text field.  click on that and the images on your device should present themselves so you can choose the one you want to use.  If you have issues let us know.

            Thanks,  Chuck
