working on my Neptune 1937 0b12a trying to get it running. The eisemann model 61b coil was bad and capacitor was missing.Ive adapted a napa coil by cutting down armature ect.Seems to have weak spark. The secondary ohms are 9300 over the limit from what i read. Most other old outboards are about 3600 ohms. Can anyone give me info on this matter.Thought i had this junk motor under control guess not!!! Thanks D Rowley
I’ve had some coils which ohmed out around 7K ohms and I thought that was high but they worked. 9300 seems excessive. What was the NAPA replacement coil, an OMC type?
