compression for 1953 5hp hiawatha

what should good compression be for 1953 5hp hiawatha? looking at picking one up to replace the power unit that is on mine

I’m working on a 53 Hiawatha myself, trying to make one from three
different outboards, as two of the power heads were froze up.
Will be using old pistons, rings, etc. Will be a while before it’s back
together, but will check the compression then.
Mines appeared to originally a dark blue. Are you repainting yours,
and if so, what color blue?

yup, mine is dark blue and gray with red decals, this is the one i found scuba diving that was still attached to a wooden transom, got it running but found out one of the piston rings were busted, i have been looking all over for color codes and decals but with no luck, going to restore to brand new, may take awhile

i saw one selling on ebay that still had ok paint so i kept the picture to copy it if i could not find decals or paint codes but some how i lost the pic, if you have any pictures of what one should look like that would be great

This place has decals that are very similar design, but
apparently not the same colors used….

I have quite a few Gale built 5hp powerheads, haven’t looked at the in a while let me see which one is best.
