Anyone have information that shows what "mfd." condenser
a single cylinder 1947 Champion 2J, 4.2 hp, with
the Bendix Scintilla, K1-1 magneto takes?
The old one tested at .35 mfd.
I found a listing via "condenser number" for K series
magnetos, and they ranged anywhere from .14 to .35,
so it’s possible .35 is correct for mine, but then again,
the points had a deep pit.
My old condenser had no numbers on it.
Thanks!
Here’s a listing for Merc mags using the Bendix Scintilla and Phelon systems and also a photo of different automotive caps. The mounts on the Ford ones at the top might allow easier installation in a tight place.
Mumbles, using the parts manual you sent, I found the condenser number,
10-82104, and was able to reference to the info on
this data, showing I need a .15 mfd condenser.
Thanks!
