The Lauson I’m working on has an Eisemann magneto, but it has a Wico X3040D coil
on it, and an Eisemann condenser. The old condenser checks out as having .29 mfd
      capacitance on my meter.
I have no idea of the correct mfd rating that coil should have.
I’ve read where the Wico X3040D coil was the last version used on the Maytag twins.
I’ve tried researching Maytag data, but drew a blank there, as well as any
      specs in the Merc-o-tronic manual.

If all else fails, I’ll just put a .22 mfd axial cap on it, and hope for good spark.

The Smokestack old engine forum has a Maytag forum.

Someone there should be able to help.

According to the  Outboarder article by Mr BMohat . 22uf is pretty  standard with no ill efects even if you goa bit higher

.22 mfd was the largest axial capacitor that I have, so I put one in the old condenser can.
It has good spark, but I haven’t gotten to the “test start” yet.
I looked at Maytag condensers people are selling, but none mentioned the capacitance.
            Thanks.
