Marinengine lists two condensers for various motors: 580321 and 777678. The prices are a couple of dollars different. Anybody know what the differences are?

There are also two tuneup kits: 172522 and 172523. The -23 number is listed for various higher-hp motors beginning about 1962. What are the differences here? (I think the -23 kit might have 581419 condensers in it.)

Anybody heard from Dan in TN? He’s not been around much lately.

580321 and 777678 are supposedly the same item. One’s an OMC number and the other is a BRP number.

Dan is hanging out and active on Facebook.

Yes, I looked and Dan’s on the facebook page. In truth I’ve also been there more than here recently.

Just my 2 cents since you mentioned it….I’ve looked at the Facebook page a few times, and it seems ok (for entertainment purposes), but the comments and suggestions seem to be all over the place, and often times not that accurate. I know there’s some benefits to that page but for me the real knowledge and answers come from here. I know this site has its frustrating flaws, and there are sometimes conflicting suggestions and procedures here too, but eventually it seems the cream/truth rises to the top. I’d rather trust the comments/contributors/suggestions here, than there.

I agree with this comment. But facebook is addictive, not the least because the format is familiar. Whereas, this site can be frustrating. Has anybody asked Dan why he’s hanging out there?
