Control box for Mark 25E

Hello all,

I am the new owner of a 1960s lapstrake runabout. I bought it with a Mercury Mark 25E outboard.

I am looking for a control box (Kaminc if possible) and advice on the electric start. The engine did not come with a key.  Any advice welcome.

Greeting Russell.  My understanding of the Mercury Mark 25E is that it was only a 2 year production for that model offering electric start, 1955 and 1956.  The 1955 model had a unique “swing away electric starter”,  and was positive ground, the 1956 had a Bosch electric starter and was negative ground.  The control box with the wiring harness that was used on the Mark 25E also fit the Mercury Mark 30E.

I think I still have a Mark 25 kit steering and controls new old stock and a Kamick control box.  1 914 310 7086.Dave

Thanks for your replies Shell and Dave.  According to the serial number of my motor, it is a 1956 model.

I will be buying a control box from Dave.
