We are restoring a ’57 Evinrude Lark, 35HP, Model 25532. We’re told the top of the cowling should be aqua white but the paint we received is more like a beige. What should be the paint scheme for the ’57 Lark? Thanks.

Aqua white is the correct color along with a light gray and charcoal gray. Maybe you just received the wrong color from whoever you got it from. Try either North York Marine or vintageoutboardpaint for the best original colors.

Thanks, Bob. I believe we received the wrong paint.

The ’57 Lark hoods are Charcoal Grey and Aqua White while the lower units are Light Grey. The Charcoal Grey and Aqua White are the same colors used as trim colors on the 56 – 57 Polychromatic Blue Evinrude hoods.

Mumbles correctly clarifies my previous message – light gray is used on the lower units only, not the cowl.
