Does anybody know if Dixies decals is still in business, and how would I contact it if it is? Also, are there any good customized decal suppliers nowadays? I am looking to find the starting instructions for a 1941 Waterwitch 571.35 1 HP (continuation of the 3/4 HP air cooled with a different carb). I have been able to find everything apart from the starting instructions.

Dixie Hamack has a Classified Ad in the Antique Outboarder magazine.

        oldoutboarddecals@gmail.com

She has a phone number in that ad as well.

There are a few other decal suppliers with Classified ads in the Antique Outboarder mag.

For a 1941 Waterwitch (Sears Roebuck & Co.) outboard, here’s where to find reproduction “starting instructions” decals:

            🎯 Specialist Outboard‑Decal Sellers

            1. OutboardDecals.com

They offer high-quality reproduction decal kits for vintage Sears Waterwitch motors.
For example, they list 1936–1937 Waterwitch kits, and likely larger sets covering early 1940s variants. Perfect for size and style matching. oac.cdlib.org+13outboarddecals.com+13picclick.com+13eBay+3picclick.com+3Facebook+3

            2. ReplacementDecals.com

Sells decal kits for Waterwitch/Sears outboards (e.g. the same 1936–1937 version), and could custom-source or adapt a kit for a 1941 model. replacementdecals.com

            🔍 Ebay & Similar Marketplaces

            • eBay occasionally features decal reproductions for Waterwitch single outboard motors.
One listing advertises “Vintage antique WATERWITCH OUTBOARD MOTOR Decals.” These may include the correct “Slow Start–Fast” or “starting instructions” panels. eBay

            • Worth searching terms like “Waterwitch decal outboard”, “Waterwitch instructions decal”, or “Sears Waterwitch 1941 decal” on eBay and Etsy.

🛠️ Vintage Boater & Collector Forums

            • On the Antique Outboard Motor Club (AOMCI) forums, collectors discuss decal placement and availability of Waterwitch “SLOW START FAST” instruction labels. One poster shared that American Outboard (outboarddecals.com) included it in their 571‑.36 kit, and others had success even if fitment can vary. eBay+12aomci.org+12picclick.com+12

            • Consider posting on AOMCI or Facebook groups like the “1941 Sears Waterwitch” community. Owners often share sources or are willing to trade or scan decals.

            ✅ Quick Steps

            Step Action
1 Check OutboardDecals.com: Contact them to confirm if their Waterwitch kit covers 1941 “starting instructions.”
2 Browse ReplacementDecals.com: Look up “Waterwitch decal kit” and ask about availability for later years.
3 Search Online Auctions: Use eBay, Etsy, etc., to find Waterwitch outboard decal sets—especially mentioning “instructions” or “SLOW START FAST.”
4 Reach Out to Collector Forums: Ask in the AOMCI forum or Waterwitch Facebook group for scans, advice, or leftover decals. They’re a great community resource.

💡 Tip on “Starting Instructions” Decal

This decal typically reads “SLOW START FAST”, located above the speed‑control lever on the front of the tank. It curves slightly, so reproduction kits sometimes include a long narrow “instruction stripe” to apply over the tank casting. Facebookaomci.org

Let me know if you’d like help contacting these sellers, drafting a forum post, or even scanning an existing decal to have reproduced!

Most likely it’s just all the links. The spam filter on this site has a hard time with links.
