I have an Evinrude with the serial number 11H381.  I’d like to determine exactly what year and model it is.  Attached is a picture of motor and ID plate, thanks

Per the model year guide, it is a 1929. They are nice, beautiful engines.

That looks to be an unusually nice original example.
Factory called it the “Fastwin” and is listed at 14 hp.
but hp. ratings were very conservative at that time.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

In this PTBC video, starting at 1:15, Lincoln
talks about the evolution of that model.

Thank you very much, George.  That’s what I was told when I bought it, and I’m glad to get confirmation.  I’m trying to get it running, so far it only runs for a few seconds and dies.  I’ve not tried this year but will in coming days.  Do you know who knows alot about these 1929 Fastwins?

                  Jeff,

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I know a fair amount about those engines and would be willing to help you. The most important thing is, those carbs are super fragile, so use care when working on them. The castings were not strong and often they decay. Fortunately, a Speedifour carb will work on  that engine, but the bigger Speeditwin doesn’t have many options other than the original carb due to size.

I’m listed in the directory if you’d like to chat.
