I might sell one of my tanks, but the one I want to sell has 6 gallons of gas in it. If I put the tank with gas higher than the receiving tank, will the gas drain? Go gas to gas, or gas to air, or will it matter? I "HATE" trying to pour gas out of a tank, messy and wasteful!

A piece of hose. It’s called a siphon. Still tastes as bad as it did when we were kids.

Just fashion a primer bulb with 2 pieces of hose and a short piece of metal tubing on the supply side. Squeeze the bulb and start the flow. Keep the full tank at a higher elevation. 2. No foul taste. This system works well in cleaning the last bit of fuel out of an older tank. Do not forget to follow the arrow on the bulb.

they sell 5 foot siphon tubes with a floating ball bearing in a crimped copper tube at one end.

you just put the tube/ball end in the full tank and as you jerk the tube up and down it fills with gas which then siphons down to the receiving tank . The down flowing gas lifts the ball bearing out of the way and voila !

the floating ball bearing acts as a check valve to prime the siphon tube…. works great and no gas in your mouth 😡

Why would you need a primer bulb to start the flow? Just pump the button on the tank?

Frank, it just dawned on me – I know how to siphon gas and you don’t get any in your mouth. Plus, near the end, I can tilt the tank, move the siphon to the corner and get almost all of the gas out. AND, I don’t have to undo any hoses!

if only someone would start reproducing the old OMC screw on spouts. I recently acquired a NOS one still in the package…and am still super happy about this as well! They will have to pry it out of my hands of my cold dead body before I let it go……

The OMC pour spout is a good tool – doesn’t work on the p-tanks though….

Siphoning by mouth not advised. As Frank mentioned, I don’t imagine the addition of ethanol has made gas taste any better!

on a one hose tank I have used the primer bulb to start the flow with a nail in the end connector to push the connector open allowing gas to siphon out …… and no…. I did not damage the Oring 🙂
