I don’t understand what is going wrong here. I have gone through the carb multiple times but when fuel is on it will keep flowing and start dripping all over out the overflow hole under the intake. If I take the top of carb off and turn fuel on all works proper the float floats and fuel stops. Then put cap on and same thing it floods…any ideas or suggestions?

Do you have a clip on the top and bottom of the float? Sounds like the float is riding to high on the needle?

Make sure the pin through the cork is not bent.

There is not a clip on bottom of the needle. It is straight. I have even tried a diff needle and float. I am going to check the cap on carb where needle seeds into for any rough edges but that’s all I can think of at this point. Fuel just flows and goes everywhere right now.

One more simple thing to remember is that those carbs need to be pretty level. You probably know that, but It took a long frustrating experience like yours before I learned that.

I’ll second MarvK’s thought that the pin might be bent. Check to see that the pin is riding smoothly through hole in the top of the cap. I sure sounds to me like it’s getting stuck somewhere.
