E25elctd 1983 info

my long time fishing buddy picked up a E25 ELCTD 1983 with boat & trailer . Aside from the usual  carb info on Leroys , parts listing on marineengine.com  etc…   if anyone has  a model specific service manual or other info on this model and could share a copy  I  (he) would appreciate it . 🙂

 

The  magneto /ignition being  the newer version  (not our universal magneto from the 50-early 70s. ) I do not have much info on it  🙂

That would be the mag cd ignition system.

I don’t think I have a manual for that one, but a great engine for sure.   Looks like that one still has the clam shell gearcase.  CDII ignition is nothing to fear, not a whole bunch to learn about it.  A good visual check and an ohm meter will usually find most ignition issues, which are few.   This engine does have a complicated cooling system, so plan on doing a big cooling system servicing if it has been used in salt water.  Look for signs of overheating, this one is before the 100:1 catastrophy.    I will look for a manual online.  D
