      Hi folks! I’ve got a 1973 Johnson 40 hp with no controls. I’ve also got a Johnson Electramatic control box left over from another project and I think it’s from ’64. I’m assuming they’re not compatible, but if people have thoughts about it, I’m all ears. Thanks!

        You are assuming correctly, not compatible. But if that Electramatic control has a good shift switch in it, it is worth more than enough $$$ to get the control you need.
