Just picked up this Elgin 1.25hp today. I payed $75, just because I’ve always wanted one. Does anyone have any info on it? Thanks.

nice guy. scroll down on the site to the 1.25. There is a copy of the owners manual that one can
print out. I have 4 of these now. they are very fun, reliable, cute, well made motors.
and they seem more like 2 hp .

Sweet running motors, and that one looks pretty good. Even has the front carburetor cover!

One of mine needed a top main bearing and a seal, both of which are available (although not from Sears!) It will become one of your favorites, I think.

If you pull off the carburetor bowl, unscrew the main needle first. You’ll see why once it’s apart. Easy to bend the needle if you don’t!

Great running little motors clean the points and carb, flush out the tank probably will start right up. The Carolina’s chapter has bunch of people that put 6 on a boat last year.

how is it motors multiply when the garage lights get
              turned off?

Awesome! Thanks everyone! One more question I’ve seen people recommend two different spark plugs, a Champion J8 or a Champion J11C. Which would y’all recommend?

The manual say C-13 Cross Country Spark Plug.
Guessing that was a brand sold by Sears at the time.
Good luck in cross referencing it!

                  Prepare to be boarded!

                    Buc,

I think you are correct. I have one in my Water Witch also.
