Just in case it isn’t obvious, the plastic gear is very difficult to find, so go easy when starting. Pull the rope a bit to engage the gear, then pull to start.

Glad you got the rewind working.
Some of those “flat metal” coil springs on OMC and others can
be real exciting when things go wrong!
