      Is there a thermostat on this motor? I checked pump and all looks good but still not getting water circulation in motor.
      Any help or info on this motor would be greatly appreciated. Only visible number 1206

        Made by Scott-McCulloch. My best guess is 1960-1963. I seriously doubt it has a thermostat.

          Make sure you have the lower unit immersed deep enough in the water – water must be a few inches above the location of the impeller or it will not self-prime. Same for just about any brand motor. Just having water above the intake opening is not enough.
