I have searched the site for a parts list for Handitwin Model 4307 but those posted are for later models. Does anyone have this list?
Also I need to replace the driveshaft gasket(s) above the water pump. It appears to be a cork seal but I am not certain. I suppose I could punch out a flat seal. Has anyone done that?
I have the parts list for the ’38 Handitwin. The grease seals were interlocking cork rings. In theory, pushing on the retainer tightened them against the shaft. Since they were only marginally effective, they haven’t been made in 50 years. The solution is to pore out the hole to accommodate a modern seal. . . 😉
Garry,
I will look up a modern lip seal as you suggest. I had thought that maybe a packing like the cork would be ok as the drive shaft is worn somewhat in the seal area. That type of wear seems typical in that area on a lot of motors.
Appreciate the parts list.
Thank you very much.
